Mercy Chepkemoi
Mercy Chepkemoi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Programme Officer at Natural Justice based in Nairobi. She has over five years of experience working at the intersection of policy, law and legal empowerment with a strong focus on environmental justice, the Just Energy Transition and natural resource governance. At Natural Justice, she works closely with communities to strengthen their capacity to claim rights, participate in decision-making and hold governments and corporations accountable in the context of large-scale energy and climate projects. Her work combines policy and legal analysis with community engagement, bridging the gap between grassroots realities and national, regional and international policy processes. Mercy has contributed to advocacy on renewable energy, climate finance and critical minerals ensuring that the perspectives of Indigenous peoples, women and marginalized groups are meaningfully included in climate and energy governance. She is deeply committed to advancing people-centered environmental and climate justice by bridging grassroots realities with law and policy to ensure fairness, accountability and inclusion in the energy transition.
