Amalie Østhassel is the Chief Operating Officer of the Norwegian-African Business Association. NABA represents the Norwegian and African private sector and works to facilitate equal partnerships in sectors across the African continent, including energy, agricultural trade, shipping and infrastructure. Ms. Østhassel has previously worked with commercial procurement in the defence industries and with policy and digitalisation in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EEA Grants. She holds an MSc from Lund School of Economics, and is about to complete a P.hD in Economic Geography at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), titled; Power, Proximity and Value in Digital Agriculture. Her research explored the effects of digital up- and downstream distribution systems on the sustainable transition of agricultural value chains in East-Africa”.
